So it is the 1st of December 2018, the long awaited day of the Wildwood Christmas craft event (also the first choccy calendar opening day 😉) Wildwood days are a local business centered around fun in the woods for all ages. They run assortments of activities from toddler groups to adult sessions like wild mushroom picking. Wildwood have been kind enough to invite TEEVO to hold a stall at the xmas craft event so off I went with my festive glee to go and help the little one's create some very merry custom t-shirt designs.
In my infinite wisdom, I thought it would be a good idea to bring one of our tiny TEEVO'S for a little helping hand(I use the term helping loosely!) as you can see the poor mite was a bit bored. Bless his socks, he did help set up but was desperate to go and 'help' the other vendors which unfortunately for him he couldn't do. Busy busy!! The other stalls were amazing, there was loads of crafty fun ranging from making clay xmas gifts to crafting with willow!! Also some seriously festive looking Xmas themes cupcakes........tasty to,nom nom.
As ever in this dank n 'orrible northern part of England, it rained. At least when people come to Wildwood days, they know to come prepared for all weathers as this is part of the glory of the outdoor adventurer's spirit! Wellies and waterproofs are a must even in 'summer'. Again another term I use loosely, summer is somewhat of a rarity in these parts 😞Everyone's spirit's were still high and no one was deterred by the rain thankfully. I wouldn't be a proper English person if I didn't mention the weather now would I??
I made some Christmas designs especially for the event, some for the kids, some for the ladies and some for the men folk. As you can see TEEVO have used some classic xmas imagery for some tasteful festive t-shirts. Any left over t-shirts will be going on auction on our Ebay store so watch out for an xmas bargain!
For the event, the emphasis was about creating something, so we set up a drawing station where people could come and paint, draw or stamp a festive design on to paper to be made in to custom Christmas t-shirt or bag. As most of the budding artists were little one's, I gave them some designs to copy from using their hand prints - Santa, Rudolph and a festive winter robin. I find a hand print is the perfect way to literally mark an occasion with your presence. One of those designs that get kept for years to come and brought out at christmas along with all of the various other home made decorations crafted over the years. Kids love to paint so there was plenty of colourful messy fun! (sorry to mum's for paint splattered clothes!)
All in all the day went well - cake was eaten, lot's of Christmas crafts created and festive custom t-shirt designs made...........I think warm baths and hot cocoa's are on the menu for tonight!
Thank you to Wildwood days for inviting us to your wonderful family Christmas craft event🎅
